Welcome

Welcome to my corner of the internet! You’re likely visiting this site because you know that something is out of sync in your life, and you aren’t quite sure how to bring things back in line.

You may be experiencing more worry or sadness than is typical for you. You may have realized you’re having some difficulties in relationships – with yourself and/or others – and are looking for a safe place to work through those concerns. Or maybe you’re facing a life transition, and have a desire to talk through what that means for you.

WHO I WORK WITH

I provide professional counseling services via telehealth to adolescents (15+) and adults in North Carolina.

I specialize in working with those who have experienced spiritual abuse and/or religious trauma, as well folks struggling with body image concerns.

Some of my clients have an official anxiety, depression, or trauma-related diagnosis, while others are seeking support from a counselor for the first time.

A common theme with my clients is a feeling of “too much, yet not enough…”, which impacts multiple areas of their lives. This fear of being “too much”, yet worrying that you’re not enough may also permeate your life.

You may have gotten the message, verbally or not, from family members, religious organizations, or significant others that you are “too much” – too opinionated, too fat, too quiet, too bossy, too direct, too skinny, too emotional, too passive, too loud, etc. You may have had a parent or romantic partner dismiss your emotions and imply that you felt things too deeply, or reacted too strongly. You may have been part of a religious organization or church where your thoughts, opinions, or talents did not align with the often gender-based norms that were taught. You may have spent years struggling with body image, dieting, and disordered eating because of the messages from every direction about your appearance.

In an effort to overcome the influence of these messages, you have worked to make yourself take up less space (maybe both physically and emotionally), and you are left wondering if who you are is enough.

WHAT I PROVIDE

As I connect with my clients for counseling via telehealth, I strive to provide a listening ear, a safe space to talk through things, and a source of support for their journey. As a licensed professional mental health counselor, I am able to utilize knowledge and skills to assist you with your struggle. We will collaborate together to determine your goals in living life and taking up space.

I want you to know that all parts of you are welcome and wanted here.  You can find ways to manage the “too much” messages and believe that you are exactly enough.
